Playin’ catch-up

Wow! Time slips by, doesn’t it? I’ve been meaning to write about several things recently, but the day job (gotta bring home the kibble, ya know) has been intense, and I’ve spent evenings debugging various little things on the blog and trying to get some advertising going.

When I do something to this blog (other than “mere blogging”), I check to see what it looks like in the two browsers that I use: Firefox (version 2.0) and Internet Explorer (version 6.0. And both of those are installed on Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2. I can (and soon will) install Opera (version 9.21), but that’s about as far as I can go.

If any of you readers out there use other browsers — or operating systems, such as Apple’s or Vista or Windows 98/ME — please use them to look very closely at various pages on this site and please report anything that doesn’t look right to you. I’ll do my best to fix them.

The good news is that the site validates when tested as XHTML 1.0 Transitional. (If you don’t know what that means, then you’re probably not as big a geek as I am. But feel free to check it out by going to the W3C’s Technical Reports page, searching for XHTML, and looking at the document found there and the HTML document that it references.) That validation improves the chances that most browsers will display the blog pretty much as it’s intended to look. Your mileage may vary ;)

On this day..
