Today is USA Thanksgiving Day. I don’t have the cycles tonight to get all philosophical, so this’ll be brief.
First, I’m really thankful that I’m surrounded by Shelties and by Sheltie-loving people — especially Barbara, who is the best thing that ever happened to me!
Second, I’m very thankful for all of you wonderful folk who read and comment in this blog. Your support means more to me than I know how to express. You blew my mind when you responded so generously to save Jake’s life, but it’s far more than the financial help you give us.
Third, I’m thankful that our recently-returned Laddy has already found a new home. Well, technically, he’s being fostered, but his foster family have already told us that they want to finalize the adoption right away. Also, I’m very happy that our 10-year-old girls Daisy and Ginger found such a wonderful home with a warm and generous man. I miss the girls a lot, but I’m delighted that they’ve got a forever home now.
Finally (for now, at least), I’m thankful that Barbara and I are leaving on Tuesday to go do three weeks of sailing and working on our boat, and that we have a great new petsitter (Jayne, pronounced "Janie") to take care of the kids while we’re gone. She’s not Amanda, but she’s going to be great.
Oh, and in about 3 minutes, we’re expecting somebody to come visit with Dali. Maybe she’ll find a new forever home before we leave for Florida!
