Adorable Photos of Two Sisters Who’ll Arrive on February 18th!

Coming in from Idaho on February 18th are two 5 year old sisters who are snapping at a 20 month old and 4 month old two-legged babies. We rarely get such cute photos of the Shelties coming here in advance of their arrival, but here they are. DSCF1878These two are so happy in their little costumes. They clearly were the focus of a great deal of attention before the babies arrived.

Of course, I’m wondering where they got these cuties…who bred them? Sable, who came here from the Burley Idaho area, DSCF1896was used for breeding and apparently had lots of litters.

These girls sure look like they’re having fun.

On this day..

  • Oh my goodness! They are an adorable pair.

Something seems strange, though. If it was a case of not introducing dogs and children properly, does that mean the girls have been hostile to the older child for 20 months? Or (I wonder) did the arrive of the younger child just tip them over the edge. It would be interesting to know if you get any more information when they’re surrendered. And, if the case is so drastic, why are they waiting 2 weeks to bring them to you? ‘Tis a puzzlement to me.

Hmm…Jim, are you (or anyone else) seeing double sets to comments to posts? I see 2 copies of Marie’s comment and mine and the “leave a reply” box, with the entire set replicated immediately below. The only difference is that links to the next blog post, “Home” and the previous blog post appear above the 2nd set.

  • I’ve actually been meaning to ask you guys if anybody was seeing that phenomenon! I noticed that a few days ago, but it didn’t seem consistent. Your comment persuaded me to investigate it a bit more.

I’ve characterized the symptom like this: The comments associated with the last blog post on the page is replicated. On the main blog pages, when you scroll to the very end, if the last blog post has any comments, then those comments are duplicated. (If the last post doesn’t have comments, then there’s nothing to be duplicated.) When you’re on a single-post page, the entire comment mechanism (including header, comments, and reply box) are duplicated.

I’m about 99.9% sure this is a result of a modification that I made to the blog template’s underlying code to support display of comments on the main blog post pages. Either the current version of WordPress (the blog software itself) or the current version of the template I’m using (Atahualpa) or both don’t support putting comments on the main post pages, which is a feature some of our readers say they like…and a feature that I like a great deal myself.

It seems very likely that my patch to display comments after each post on the main post pages was inadequate. And that means that I need to do some debugging and modify my patch. I won’t have time today, but I’ll try to take care of it this weekend.

MANY thanks for reporting this and triggering me to pay closer attention to finding out the cause and to fix it.
